Welcome

Ann MacPhetridge | Senior Global Commercialization Marketing Manager

Hello,

I am very excited to welcome you to the first issue of our digital version of Profiles in DNA!

It’s been quite a while since we published a Profiles in DNA issue, but we’ve heard from many of you that you have missed it! We are thrilled to bring it back, this time in a digital version. Recognizing that people do much of their reading while on their mobile devices, we moved to a digital version that can easily be read on your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop from the comfort of your home or while waiting for your STR amplification runs to complete.

Moving to a digital version not only makes it more interactive, but it’s also more environmentally friendly. Promega takes the challenges of climate change very seriously and we’ve implemented numerous initiatives to help reduce our impact on the environment. Offering a digital version of Profiles in DNA is just one such effort. We are proud to do our part to help save our planet.

Interested in submitting an article for a future issue? I’d love to hear what your think of our first issue—and hear your ideas for topics that you’d like to read in our next issue! Email me at the email listed below to share your ideas or an abstract!

In this issue, you will get an update on the new PowerQuant® Analysis software and the latest protocols on the Maxprep instrument. Additionally, you can read fascinating articles on the use of massively parallel sequencing (MPS) use in casework, an evaluation of our new Bone DNA Extraction kit with the Maxwell® Instrument, and learn about where you can meet Promega staff at key scientific conferences in 2020!

Or you can sit back and relax and watch our interviews with Dr. Lutz Roewer and Dr. Peter de Knijff.

And last but not least, be sure to read our profile on John Picciano, our newest Validation Services Scientist.

Best wishes,
