Today, we’ll meet Anupama Gopalakrishnan, a Senior Global Product Manager based in Madison, Wisconsin.
Tell us a little bit about what your role is at Promega.
I manage DNA purification, human DNA quantification and forensic MPS products relevant to the forensic market. As a Global Product Manager, I work with multiple groups across Promega and external customers to help develop products that are beneficial to the forensic DNA community.
What have you been doing to keep sane during the COVID pandemic?
Staying positive and having faith in the ability of science to overcome this pandemic. This pandemic has also helped me focus on a healthier lifestyle of regular exercise, meditation, and a sense of gratitude.
What motivates you to succeed?
Satisfaction of a job well-done. Knowing that I have done all I could with the best of my ability motivates me to move forward.
What does a typical day for you look like?
The products I manage are quite varied and each product/project brings in different issues and therefore there is no dull moment. My day typically involves corresponding with GI global teams and customers via phone calls, emails, Skype/Teams. I really enjoy working with the GI global teams who are dedicated, hard-working and a lot of fun.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I believe that the products we develop help forensic analysts with their work, and thereby, contribute to justice in a small but significant way

P. G. Woodhouse books for humor and Agatha Christie’s books for intriguing mysteries.
