Welcome

Nicole Siffling | Meeting & Marketing Communication Manager

Hello everybody,

I am very excited to welcome you to the first issue of our digital newsletter Profiles in DNA!

Maybe you remember that Promega had a printed version many years ago and we stopped doing this due to various reasons. After having gotten quite some feedback over the past years that this magazine is missing, we now want to revamp it in a digital format.

We know that you liked the printed version, but there are a lot of opportunities in having now a digital Newsletter! Besides the ecological fact that we save paper, it does offer you the possibility to read it on various devices – on your computer, ipad, or on your mobile (and of course to be interactive)! I encourage you to actively submit articles that you would like to share with the forensic community or to simply giving me feedback on how you like this issue or what you would like to see in the future.

In this issue you can read very interesting articles on NGS in real cases and an Evaluation of the Bone DNA Extraction kit and the Maxwell® Instrument in Bone samples analysis. Additionally, you will get an update on the new PowerQuant tool and the latest protocols on the Maxprep instrument.

Or you can sit back and relax and watch our interviews with Dr. Lutz Roewer and Dr. Peter de Knijff.

And last but not least, you can get an overview on the upcoming meetings in 2020 and meet Laurence Monet – our great new colleague when it comes to applications on instruments.

Wishing you lots of fun and inspiring moments when you read through this issue.

Kindest regards and take care!
